I am Maisha Thaxter, widely recognized as Lyfe Golden, and I wear many hats: visionary, serial entrepreneur, and change-maker. I’m the proud Founder of NexGen, an organization rooted in my passion for innovation and empowerment. My journey has been defined by purpose, perseverance, and a commitment to making a lasting impact.
I began my academic journey with a degree in Computer Graphics and Web Design, which sparked my love for blending technical expertise with creative expression. To deepen my knowledge and leadership abilities, I pursued further studies in Intercultural Communication, Business, Psychology, Marketing, and Human Values & Ethics. These disciplines have given me a unique lens to view the world and have informed my approach to storytelling, strategy, and leadership.
Over the course of my career, I’ve collaborated with nonprofits, city council members, commissioners, and state attorneys across California, Texas, and Maryland. At the age of 38, I took a bold step and founded Aggressive Expression Modeling Ad Agency LLC, a venture that solidified my passion for driving innovation and creating opportunities.
One of my most cherished achievements is the creation of the NexGen Elevation Hub, an initiative dedicated to empowering inner-city and at-risk youth by equipping them with vital social and soft skills. This project mirrors my commitment to fostering self-discovery and personal transformation.
